Visual Adaptation of Repertory Grids

In my work I am looking at the impact of meaningful objects on people in their personal work spaces. Exploring the meaning of the objects which they photograph is done initially through interviews, which yield some interesting data but which rely on the interviewee’s easily accessible reflections on the meaning of the photographs to them. In order to deepen and extend the data which come from those interviews I am using Repertory Grids, drawn from Kelly’s work on Personal Construct Theory. This session will outline how Repertory Grids ‘work’ and suggest some ways in which I am finding it a useful and dynamic tool for visual analysis.
